Call for Theater Camp Directors

State Street Theater is seeking passionate and enthusiastic Theater Camp Directors and Assistant Directors for our Summer 2025 Theater Camps! If you love working with kids and inspiring creativity through theater, we want to hear from you!

Our camps offer children aged 7-15 the opportunity to explore acting, stagecraft, and storytelling in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. Each camp culminates in a final performance at State Street Theater.

Camp Opportunities

🎭 CAMP ONE: Theater for All – Inclusive Drama Camp
📅 June 16-20 | ⏰ 9 AM – 12 PM | 🎟 Performance: June 20
This special one-week camp is designed for students on the Autism Spectrum and all other campers to explore the magic of theater in a supportive and inclusive environment.

🎭 CAMP TWO: Hispanic Youth Theater Experience
📅 June 16-27 | ⏰ 1 PM – 4 PM | 🎟 Performance: June 27
This two-week camp is a celebration of storytelling through theater! Hispanic youth and all other campers will team up to create an exciting stage production while exploring acting, stage design, props, costumes, and more.

🎭 CAMP THREE: Young Performers Theater Camp
📅 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 1:30- 3 p.m., July 15- 30 ⏰ 1:30 PM – 3 PM 🎟 Final Performance: Wednesday, July 30, 5 PM at State Street Theater
A five-week camp introducing young actors to puppetry, pantomime, and stagecraft in a playful, hands-on way.

Director Responsibilities

  • Create curriculum, lead, and instruct campers in theater fundamentals, including acting, stage presence, and creative expression.
  • Oversee rehearsals, stage design, and Direction of final performances.
  • Foster a welcoming and engaging learning environment for all participants.

Qualifications

  • Experience in theater performance, directing, or education.
  • Passion for working with children and youth.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
