In the Spring, we’ll present the delightful 1892 drag comedy, Charley’s Aunt by Brandon Thomas. Set at Harvard in the 1920s, it’s an hilarious mistaken identity comedy to be directed by Steven LaVigne. Auditions are March 18-20, 6:30pm, Lake Nokomis Presbyterian Church. We need 3 men and 3 women, 17-25; 2 men and 2 women, 40-65. One character performs much of the play in 1920s drag.


3 men, mid 20s to 30
Jack Chesney, student, in love with Kitty Verdun.
Charley Wykeham, student, in love with Amy Spettigue.
Fancourt Babberley, student, pulled unwillingly into Jack and Charley’s scheme.

2 men, middle-aged
Stephen Spettigue, uncle of Amy and guardian of Kitty, he’s the story’s villain.
Col. Francis Chesney, father of Jack Chesney.

2 women, middle-aged
Mrs. Brasset, the house mother.
Donna Lucia d’Alvadorez, Charley’s aunt from Brazil.

3 women, late teens to mid 20s
Amy Spettigue, Stephen Spettigue’s young niece.
Kitty Verdun, Stephen Spettigue’s young ward.
Ela Delahay, orphaned young woman accompanying Donna Lucia and loved by Fancourt.
