We welcome new MACT Board member, Bailey Willhite to the Board. She was elected at the June 7 annual meeting.
Bailey Willhite is a theatre director and arts leader based in Hutchinson, Minnesota. She is the founder and board president of Waconia Theatre Company and has directed productions at the community, high school, and middle school levels. With experience in directing, volunteer coordination, and arts programming, she is passionate about creating accessible, high-quality theatre for all ages.
As part of the application process, Bailey was asked about her experience and what she has to offer MACT. Here are her responses.
As a theatre director, producer, and community leader, I strongly believe in MACT’s mission to promote quality community theatre, support communication among theatres, and provide education and growth opportunities. These values align closely with my own goals as both an artist and an organizer.
I am the founder and current board president of Waconia Theatre Company, which launched in 2024. Since then, we’ve produced multiple shows and built a growing presence in our community, including youth programs and a summer camp. I also direct high school theatre and have experience working with other community theatres in the region.
In addition to production work, I bring experience in board leadership, volunteer coordination, scheduling, licensing, and community outreach. I understand the challenges local theatres face and care deeply about creating spaces where theatre can thrive and be accessible to all.
I would bring a strong work ethic, organizational skills, and a collaborative mindset to the MACT Board. I’m excited about the opportunity to support other theatres and contribute to the ongoing growth of Minnesota’s vibrant theatre community.
