Happy Labor Day weekend! We hope you are enjoying this holiday weekend!
Things start to pickup in the theatre world after this holiday. You’ll find many auditions coming up and several shows starting up. I’m sure you’ll enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Get out and audition for a show! And get out and support the community theatres’ events listed below. Even if you don’t want to get up on stage yourself, there are many ways to support your local community theatre. Volunteer your time as a set builder or painter, sound or lighting designer or board op, costumer, makeup artist, back stage crew, ticket seller, advertising and promotions or usher. There are SO MANY ways to help out. Every community theater is always looking for helpers.
And let them know you saw their event listing here!
The Duluth Playhouse has several openings for paid staff positions, including directors, assistant directors, choreographers and various crew positions. Visit the “artists” section on their website for more information or to apply.
Free Sale Yes – NOT a typo! Noreen Brandt – who has costumed many shows – is sorting thru stuff in her house (along with several neighbors) , and it will be on her front lawn for TWO days ONLY! 10 am to 6 pm on Friday September 8th, and Saturday September 9th (Sunday the 10th as a possible rain date). 5321 – 43rd Ave So, Minneapolis 55417. We would like to feature stories about MACT member theaters in this newsletter. If you have a story about your theatre – it’s history, a special project or milestone, anything of general interest – please send it to NewsletterMACT@gmail.com.
Please pass this newsletter along to anyone that you think might be interested. If you did not receive this newsletter directly, you can subscribe to this free weekly newsletter on the newsletters page of our website.
Please keep Tickets to the City in mind when you are looking for an on-line ticketing service. They have been MACT’s on-line ticketing service for many years. The system works great and is easy to use. Support is superior! And every ticket you sell through them provides your theatre with MORE than the value of the ticket sold and helps support MACT.
