MACT is currently planning a series of workshops to be held next spring in the Twin Cities metro area. The workshops will consist of two concurrent 2-hour workshops in the morning, a general discussion over box lunches and two concurrent 2-hour workshops in the afternoon. These workshops will take place on three Saturdays, possibly in March, April and/or May, at various locations around the Twin Cities.
We are currently looking for workshop topics that people/theatres might be interested in. Topic ideas might include things like, sets on a budget; sets for traveling shows; set painting techniques; using wireless microphones; lighting on a budget; accessibility concerns and solutions; auditioning techniques; costumes on a budget & sources; hair today, gone tomorrow (using wigs); managing rehearsals; working with special needs actors; directing basics; advanced directing; light design (intro to lighting); sound design; and more. If you have a topic that you would like to see us present, please send your idea to Larry Pint at WebmasterMACT@gmail.com.
If you know of someone who has a topic that they might be interested in presenting a workshop on, please send Larry that information too.
These workshops are funded, in large part, by a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council. “This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.” We thank them for their support.
