Marshall Area Stage Company (MASC) is a community theater organization formed in 1999 to provide stability to Marshall’s annual summer musical production and later, to coordinate the summer Children’s Theatre Workshop.  Over the years, MASC has added Shakespeare in the Park during Sounds of Summer, live Radio Dramas in collaboration with KMHL Marshall Radio, a biennial Short Play Fest, regular entries in the MN Assoc. of Community Theaters festivals, and a wide range of other theatrical opportunities for area residents.  Despite not having a permanent home, MASC has continued to bring a variety of theater productions throughout the region as well providing technical support to other arts organizations in the area. MASC is dedicated to encouraging the growth of the performing arts in Marshall and surrounding communities.

MASC hosted the very fun and successful MACT*Fest 2017 at the Schwan Community Center for the Performing Arts. This festival featured nine theatre companies presenting shows, 12 workshops spread over 4 sessions and 2 days and social events to mingle with old and new friends.

Next up for MASC will be “Disaster!“, a new musical straight from Broadway, featuring some of the most unforgettable songs of the ’70s, such as “Knock on Wood,” “Hooked on a Feeling,” “Sky High,” “I Am Woman” and “Hot Stuff”. This show will be a dinner theatre performed at a new venue for MASC. Performance will be: February 18, 19, 20, 22, 24 at the Vesta Community Centre 320 E Centre Street Vesta MN
