The internal page links should now be working in the newsletter. If you click on the “News”, “Auditions” or “Events” links just below the header of the newsletter, it should take you to that section of the newsletter. This has not been working in several e-mail reader programs (in my case Outlook), but did work if you viewed the newsletter in a browser. I (finally!) figured out how to get this working. Thank you for your patience.

With this issue of Mini MACT*Facts, we will begin implementing the option to allow you to select the frequency that you you want to receive our newsletter and the time-frame of the content in the newsletter. This option is now implemented for all three versions of the newsletter (“Events and Auditions”, “Events Only” and “Auditions Only”).

The frequency options are

• weekly – on Sunday evenings
  • This is the current option – you should have been receiving the newsletter every week
  • You will be able to select the time frame of the content to be included:
    • 1 week of events and/or auditions
    • 2 weeks of events and/or auditions (current option)
    • 1 month of events and/or auditions
• every other week – on Sunday evenings
  • Due to limitations in the tool we use to generate the newsletters, the newsletter will actually only be sent on the 1st and 3rd Sundays. I have contacted the developer and they said they have no plans to add the capability of sending every other week.
  • You will be able to select the time frame of the content to be included:
    • 2 weeks of events and/or auditions
      • due to the above mentioned limitation, this option will include 3 weeks of events and/or auditions so that no events are missed in months with 5 Sundays
      • We will change this to the expected 2 weeks of events/auditions if the tool builder ever decides to change the tool to allow sending every other week.
      • We apologize for any confusion or inconvenience this issue may cause.
    • 1 month of events and/or auditions
• monthly
  • We would prefer this to be on the first of every month, but due to limitations in the tool we use to generate the newsletters, this is not possible. Again, the developer of the tool has no plans to add this capability to the tool. Due to this limitation, the monthly newsletter will actually be sent on the 1st Sunday of each month.
  • This option will always contain events and/or auditions for the upcoming month.

If you are considering changing your profile to receive the newsletter every other week or monthly, please remember that we visit every MACT member theatre’s website (or Facebook page) every week to update their listings. While doing this weekly review, we frequently find additions and changes that are for the upcoming week. Due to this, any newsletter frequency longer than weekly may not reflect the most current information on events.

That being said, you are encouraged to adjust the settings in your profile to meet your needs. Use the “manage your subscription” at the bottom of any newsletter to access your profile.
