The Alexandria Area Arts Association, doing business as the Andria Theatre, was started in July of 1974. That means they are celebrating 50 years of providing quality arts experiences for all ages and abilities in west central Minnesota.

The Andria Theatre’s mission is to build community by igniting interest and participation in and through the performing arts. The mission is accomplished by providing community-based theatre and education-oriented programming that exceeds expectations, The Andria Theatre is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation led by a staff of four and governed by a board of directors.

Between their large regular season productions, their “Seniors on Stage” and the “Student Theatre Project” programs they cover arts experiences for people of all ages. The Andria Theatre’s season is typically filled with nine productions. Shows are a mix of family entertainment, as well as those geared toward adults, musicals, and dramas. The Andria recently added producing two senior shows, Seniors On Stage, to their season. These one-act plays are written for senior actors and performances will be held during the day.  Three Student Theatre Project productions are held each summer to wrap up the season.
