Seeking MACT*Fest Committee

MACT*Fest will be held March 5-9, 2025 at The Depot Theatre in Duluth.

MACT*Fest is our biennial, adjudicated festival of 60-minute (max) shows. It is part of the AACTFest cycle. Two shows from MACT*Fest will represent Minnesota in the Region V festival, April 4-6, 2025 in Newton, Iowa. At least one show from the Region V festival will represent our region at AACTFest, which will be in Des Moines, Iowa, June 25-28, 2025.

We are looking for additional committee members to work on MACT*Fest. We need people to help with the festival and the preparations. Some of the sub-committees we need people for are: adjudicator selection; workshops selection and organization; playbill; promotion; and socials.

Joel Soukkala, Carol Pint and Larry Pint have volunteered to co-chair this festival. These three organized the recent, very successful Fast*Fest. Joel is the General Manager at County Seat Theater Company in Cloquet. Carol Pint has been organizing the socials and has been the adjudicator wrangler for many MACT*Fests. Larry Pint is MACT’s treasurer, webmaster & newsletter editor and has chaired or co-chaired several past MACT*Fests and Fast*Fests. County Seat Theater Company has agreed to act as the host theater.

We are behind schedule and need to get moving on planning for the festival. We are planning our first committee meeting for Thursday, September 5 at 9:30 am.
