As part of our planning for MACT*Fest ’25, we are seeking workshop topics and presenters for the Friday and Saturday morning workshops. A small stipend is available to workshop presenters. Submit your topic and/or presenter suggestions to Joel Soukkala at countyseatgm@aol.com.
Workshops should be 1 to 1.25 hours in length. They may be on any subject that may be of interest to theatres and the practitioners thereof. Subject areas covered in the past have included directing (beginning and advanced, holding auditions, rehearsal scheduling, team building, etc.); auditioning (general and specialty like dancing for the non-dance); actor related (beginning and advanced acting techniques, script analysis, character discovery, accents, fight choreography, etc.); Tech areas (lighting, sound, projections, set building on a budget, set painting, costuming, use of color, etc.) and admin (budgeting, choosing a season, annual tax reporting, working towards Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI), etc.) and more. If you, as a person involved in theatre, are interested in a subject area, others probably are too.
