The busy summer theater season is winding down. Most theatres’ summer shows are over. Theatres are starting to gear up for their fall and Christmas shows. Therefore, there are lots of auditions coming up over the next few weeks. These theatres would love to see you audition for their upcoming shows. No experience is necessary – plenty of fun experiences are provided. There are few experiences like the applause of an audience! Wet your feet with a small chorus part. You won’t regret it. Contact any of the theatres that have upcoming auditions below. They will be happy to talk to you about getting involved.
And just because you don’t want to be on stage doesn’t mean you can’t get in on the fun at your local community theatre. They are also looking for set builders and painters, costumers and seamstresses, lighting and sound techs, hair and makeup artists, ticket sellers, ushers and many other positions. There are lots of ways to help without being on stage. And in the end, when you hear that applause, you’ll know they are applauding not only the actors on the stage but everyone involved in the production.
While our old website (at www.MACT.net) is still available, I am no longer keeping it up to date. All new show and audition listings are posted to our new website (at www.MN-ACT.net) only. Check it out! I will soon be redirecting our MACT.net domain name to the new website and the old website will go away completely.
Hopefully, by next week’s newsletter i will have the show listing with the graphics available again. I think that is a much better looking listing and it is easier to find the listings for the show(s) you are interested in. My next step will be to break out the auditions and performances into separate sections of the newsletter. Eventually, I’m hoping to get to where you can set up an account (free, of course) on our website and control which of the lists (auditions and/or performances) you want to receive in our weekly newsletter. But that’s a long way in the future, with a lot of challenges to overcome first. Let me know what else I can do to make this newsletter more useful to you.
We would like to feature stories about MACT member theaters in this newsletter. If you have a story about your theatre – it’s history, a special project or milestone, anything of general interest – please send it to NewsletterMACT@gmail.com.
Please pass this newsletter along to anyone that you think might be interested. If you did not receive this newsletter directly, you can subscribe to this free weekly newsletter on the newsletters page of our website.
Please keep Tickets to the City in mind when you are looking for an on-line ticketing service. They have been MACT’s on-line ticketing service for many years. The system works great and is easy to use. Support is superior! And every ticket you sell through them provides your theatre with MORE than the value of the ticket sold and helps support MACT.
