GTC Summer 2025 Show & Audition Info

Welcome to summer with Generations Theatre Company! This summer, we will be putting on two productions! Please read in full before signing up for auditions.

Audition info
Auditions will take place April 6 & 7 at Raven Stream Elementary in New Prague. Please sign up for a time slot: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0F45AEAB29ABF4C16-55410461-lion#/ We ask that you arrive 10 minutes before your assigned time slot so we can ensure timely auditions. For your audition, please prepare a short excerpt of a song from a musical (verse & chorus is perfect).

Participation Fee
If you are cast in either show, there is a $100.00 activity fee to participate – scholarships are available! You will receive a free show shirt along with this activity fee.

Parent Supervision
Parents of children under age 12 will supervise their children during rehearsals and supervise backstage for at least one performance. Also, all parents/family members are asked to help us make our shows run smoothly – a volunteer sign-up form will be sent out at a later date. GTC is COMMUNITY theatre!

First Rehearsal
Sunday, June 1 at 6:00 pm is a Lion King/All Night Strut All-Cast and Crew Meeting – you will meet everyone, get your script, pay activity fees, sign contracts and start singing! Any cast member age 17 and under must bring a parent/guardian to this meeting.

Lion King Jr.
The Lion King jr. is based on the hit animated Disney film. It is open to ages 8-18 to audition.
Rehearsals will be held Sundays – Thursdays from 6:00 – 9:00 PM beginning June 1st, with occasional rehearsals added in May depending on cast availability. We ask that you share all potential conflicts for both months on your audition form to determine our rehearsal schedule.

Not all cast members will be called for every rehearsal; we will do our best to work around minimal conflicts. If you will be absent for a mandatory rehearsal or performance, we cannot cast you. Mandatory dates for the Lion King Jr. are June 22-26 (tech week) and performances June 27, 28 & 29.

All Night Strut
All Night Strut is a musical celebration of the 1930s and 40s, filled with jazz, blues, bebop and American songbook standards. All Night Strut is for mature voices high school age and up. Rehearsals will be held Sundays – Thursdays from 6:00 – 9:00 PM beginning June 1st, with occasional rehearsals added in May depending on cast availability. We ask that you share all potential conflicts for May – July 20 to determine our rehearsal calendar.

We will do our best to work around minimal conflicts. If you will be absent for a mandatory rehearsal or performance, we cannot cast you. Mandatory dates for the All Night Strut are July 13-17 (tech week), and performances July 18, 19 & 20. We also plan to take the show “on the road” on a tour to local nursing homes after performances. A date will be determined based on cast availability.
