Madhatters One Act Play Showcase Madhatters Community Theater, Inc. invites you to be part of MOAPS! MOAPS was a success beyond our expectations as various groups competed before a large audience. In 2021 the winning one act went on to perform his original play at a nationally recognized venue! Although we can’t guarantee such an outcome for our participants, we encourage everybody to give it a try. Gather a few friends, pick a play, rehearse it to perfection, and put it on at our showcase at Wadena Memorial Auditorium. If your play receives the most audience votes, your group will win the first prize of $500! All with no registration fee! MOAPS is meant to be an exhibition of the entertainment and excitement that comes from the experience of live theater. It is an opportunity for anyone to express themselves through performance, be it through acting, directing, or design elements, just to name a few. By bringing together artists from a variety of communities, we can highlight our rich theatrical traditions. So come join us as we celebrate theater in Minnesota! General Info: • Plays may be original or pre-existing. • Plays are limited to 10-30 minutes in length. • Set up and strike of set needs to be as brief as possible – preferably no more than 5 minutes. • Groups and participants of all ages may perform. • To ensure a cohesive and complete showcase, MOAPS will have a minimum of four One Acts and a maximum of eight. Madhatters may cancel the contest if there are less than four entries. • Due to safety concerns, live animals, smoking/flame, and food/drink are prohibited.  Also, Wadena Memorial Auditorium prohibits all firearms. • Madhatters has the final say in which performances are chosen to be part of the Showcase. The producers of MOAPS will choose the sequence of performances.
