YouthFest 2025

AACT Youthfest was held June 22-24 at the Des Moines Playhouse.

The shows presented at the festival were:

Avinash, presented by Ebong TheatriX (Bethesda, MD – Region II), was celebrated for its high-energy movement and won Outstanding Dance Performance (Stay In Your Lane Dancers). Jiyon Banerjee and Suhana Tiwari also received Outstanding Acting Awards.

Dark Road from Northern Starz Center for Performing Arts (Ramsey, MN – Region V) impressed with its emotional ensemble work. Mia Tanner (as Lise) and Evelyn Zimpfer (as Greta) were recognized for Outstanding Acting.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr., by Landmark Community Theatre (Thomaston, CT – Region I), brought color and joy to the stage. Camila Reyes (as Sebastian/Ursula) and Teagan Guertin (as Chef Louis) earned Acting Awards, and the entire cast was honored for Outstanding Achievement in Vocal Harmonies.

Lost Girl, presented by Clark Youth Theatre (Tulsa, OK – Region VI), brought a new lens to the Peter Pan tale. Cora Paul (as Wendy), Jack Whitney (as Slightly), and Judah Brown (Original Composition) received honors. Clark Youth Theatre also received the Spirit Award for professionalism and dedication.

Mac Beth, by Civic Youth Theatre of Greater Lafayette (Lafayette, IN – Region III), was recognized for Outstanding Ensemble Work and earned the Backstage Award. Ash Durham (as Macbeth) and Quinn Findlay (as Witch 2) both received Outstanding Acting Awards.

Runaway Princess, performed by Central Park Players (Grand Haven, MI – Region III), charmed with originality. Priscilla Roma (as Alice) received the Rising Star Award, with Sebastien and Eden Navis also honored for their performances.
