Purple Door Youth Theater is an educational division of the Northfield Arts Guild Theater In Purple Door Youth Theater, students are led by our staff of theater artists to produce a quality theatrical production. Students receive training and hands-on experiences in acting, technical and administrative theater. Students may choose an acting or a technical theater track. In addition to mounting the show, PDYT emphasizes building character off stage with skills like collaboration, critical thinking and citizenship. AUDITION INFO What: PDYT is thrilled to host open auditions and technician interviews for WINNIE-THE-POOH, a non-musical play adapted by Lindsay Price. This is a non-musical, all-student production of the original and beloved A.A. Milne book, Winnie-the-Pooh. The play follows the original collection of stories known for their whimsical charm and gentle humor. Rehearsals and tech time will begin October 27. Winnie-the-Pooh performances are weekends December 12-21 at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater. When: Auditions for Winnie-the-Pooh are October 8 and 9, 2025. Students must schedule a 30-minute time slot between 6:30 and 8:00pm. Where: Auditions and interviews take place at the Northfield Arts Guild Theater, 411 Third Street West, Northfield. Who: Students in grades 2 through 12 are encouraged to audition for the cast. Students in grades 6-12 are welcome to interview for technical theater positions. How: Those auditioning for the cast should prepare one of the mini monologues provided on the audition signup form. Those interviewing for a Dedicated Technician role need not prepare anything in advance. More information can be found on the signup form.
