RODGERS AND HAMMERSTEIN’S “SOUND OF MUSIC”

THE SOUND OF MUSIC has become the world’s most beloved musical which features a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Ev’ry Mountain,” “My Favorite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and the title number, “The Sound of Music.” This classic has won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria von Trapp, follows an ebullient convent postulate who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain von Trapp as she brings music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, the von Trapp family must make a moral decision.

Six performances of The Sound of Music will be held at the Delano Performing Arts Center (PAC). Performances are planned for the evenings of July 12, 13, 19 and 20, with matinees on July 14 and 21, 2024.
